Over the weekend I was lucky enough to attend a beautiful wedding in Upstate NY, right on historic Route 66. The historical vibe didn’t end there! The ceremony was held in a proper barn, with breathtaking mountain views serving as the backdrop.
The grooms did an incredible job of creating a country-farm theme with an upscale, elegant twist.
My Top 7 Favorite Rustic Elements at the Wedding
Farm tables are a tried and true staple at any country wedding, but this wedding went the extra mile with rustic furnishings. The wedding had a tall, wooden cable-spool table as a place to display hors d’oeuvres, and had a handmade initial vignette created by the crafty grooms.
These tablescapes were country perfection with mismatched dishes, adorable honey-jar favors, and the essential summer wedding staple… mason jars full of hydrangea.
An additional outbuilding painted in a rustic, barn-red was the perfect backdrop for these colorful outdoor chairs. Just about every member of the family ended up taking a photo or two seated on them!
The fun backdrops continued with these oh-so-fun retro campers (that were totally functional and served as sleeping quarters for some wedding guests.) They reminded the guests, many of whom commuted upstate from the city, that we were most definitely in the country!
And the finale… What could be better than having the handsome grooms arrive in a vintage, 1970’s pickup in colors that coordinated with their wedding?!
A perfect nod to the historic Route 66 venue, and a perfect start to a wonderful, magical night!
