Furniture Rescues is a group of artists in Northern New Jersey. We are passionate about restoring and painting antique furniture to create beautiful, one of a kind pieces.

When you chose to have a piece of furniture restored, upcycled, or refinished you are creating an opportunity for the piece to serve and exist instead of being discarded or replaced. It is a sustainable and green option that promotes a healthy planet. Whether an item needs repairing, decorative painting, staining, a new look or refinishing, there is no limit to the possibilities and options for making the pieces work in your design scheme.

For inspiration and project pieces, browse our online store which features everything from furniture parts and salvage materials to complete custom handmade furniture. We offer pickup and delivery services to the North Jersey/Metro area.

  • 106-Year-Old Reclaimed Wood Dining Table

One of a kind 100% reclaimed wood rustic farm table built by Furniture Rescues!

    Reclaimed Wood Story

Our close friend recently moved into one of the first houses built in Oakland, NJ. The farmhouse was completed 8 years after Oakland was founded (in 1902), and while beautiful and old-world charming, it needed a few renovations. He quickly tore down one wall to make a room bigger, tossing its wood treasures in a pile destined for the dumpster. To make his clean up easier, we politely asked for/stole all the discarded structural wood beams. These massive 106-year-old rough cut beams have authentic wear and great rustic character!

With a limited amount of wood, we decided to make a trestle-style farm table with minimal refinishing (table tops need to be smooth with no splinters.) What a great way to keep a local piece of history alive!

Whoever purchases this NEEDS to host Thanksgiving and show it off!
